The Feagin's son Patrick had his first birthday in March and we took these photos to celebrate! It has been great to capture his growth from a newborn to a little man with lots of character and personality in just one year.
After Jennifer & Adams' ceremony at the Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Decatur we walked down Ponce to the reception at the Old Courthouse, taking pictures at their favorite spots along the way. Loved that they were willing to walk across most of downtown Decatur for some good pictures. It really made for some great moments that we just would not have captured otherwise.
This was my first photo shoot in Macon and we found some great spots for pictures. All these great downtown locations were so quite on a Sunday evening. I spent two weekends in a row with Jenn & Russ from this engagement shoot to their awesome wedding at the Brasstown Valley resort in North Georgia and they have been so amazing to work with. Stay tuned for pictures from the wedding!
Photographed my first ever official bridal shoot last week down near Macon, Georgia. Many thanks to Jenn, the bride-to-be, for risking getting her dress a little dirty for some good photos! Also, a big thank you for our family friend Florence who graciously let us use her farmland for the shoot.
Enjoyed getting these natural feeling photos of Jessica and Mark walking from the church to the reception. We did a few posed shots but as always, these unplanned photos are better.
I think this is one of my favorite "getting ready" shoots. The big open rooms at the historic Hardeman-Sams House provided great natural light to get some classic looking black and white photos. I like these shots because they capture the mood of this old Athens mansion.
Tuesday night I photographed Ted Turner at the Atlanta International School. Two students at the school interviewed him on stage before an audience. There were lots of questions about The Braves, CNN, and his Ted's Montana Grill (which I do love) but all I would have wanted to talk about were all the cool Chuck Norris movies I got to watch on TBS Superstation when I was a kid. Anyone remember the awesomeness of Lone Wolf McQuade?
Today I got to photograph the engagement of Ben & Kayte in Atlanta's Piedmont Park. Ben had contacted me a few weeks before with the idea of photographing the actual proposal and I thought it was a great idea. I was not sure how he was going to convince her to go to the park in below-freezing weather but he pulled it off and everything went according to plan (nice work Ben). My wife and I had to pretend to be photographing the frozen pond so Kayte would not spot us too soon. We had so much fun doing this. Congratulations to Kayte & Ben!
I have lived in Decatur for three years but all my weddings have been in other Atlanta neighborhoods or as far off as Mexico or Michigan. So I was thrilled to finally shoot a wedding less than a mile from home and at the Decatur First United Methodist Church where I grew up. I loved shooting in the original stone chapel and it was a perfect choice for a fall wedding.
